Gerald R. White     is President/Artistic Director of Thought  & Time Media Group, LLC.  He is a Former United States Navy (Fleet) Journalist, Broadcaster, Public Affairs Specialist, Photographer, SITE II CCTV TV, Radio Station Program Manager, ENG Cameraman,  Video Editor; former Public Information Officer with Economic Opportunity Atlanta, Inc., Georgia's largest Social Services Agency; Published Human-Interest, Travel, Entertainment Writer; Professional Newspaper Make-up Artist, Graphics Designer, Copy Editor, Proofreader; retired Musician (Drummer, Percussionist); seasoned Script, Screenwriter, Story Editor; TV, Film Producer,  Director, Digital Content Creator, Video Editor; Professional Audio Visual Corporate Camera Operator; Voice Talent; Community Activist; INTJ.

The "Atlanta-Born, Atlanta-Bred, Atlanta-Proud" ATLien attributes his spiritual-discipline and devotion to the Arts & Humanities and Educational Media to a strict, socially-conscious Atlanta upbringing and nurturing that prepared him to take on this universal world as
a 15-year old Atlanta Southwest High School Senior enrolling at HBCU's
Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, N.C., as a 16-year old college freshman prodigy. Some of Gerald's undergraduate extracurricular activities included: wrote his first original, 4-Act stage play, "History: Back In Time & Time Again (Niggas & Blacks, Rednecks & Whites Will Never Mix); toured his sophomore/junior years legendary Trinidad native and accomplished Caribbean steel drum performer and instructor  Jim Boyce & the Charlotte Steel Drum Symphonette; Drummer/Percussionist (Kalimba Bros. Drumline) JCSU's Marching Golden Bulls, Stage, Jazz, Concert & Pep Bands; Entertainment Editor, University Student News Newspaper; Show Writer, Co-Producer, Show Director (1st Rodeo), "The 1982 Faculty & Students Talent Show," a live, six (6) hour musical stage production featuring (4) live bands and a bevy of original, co-written sketch comedies, multidisciplinary stage and theatrical performances...

 

In some of his off-campus "roads less traveled" Gerald landed his first professional freelance writing consignment at the age of 17 with Charlotte's City Rhythm Magazine; completed (1) year professional "Ad Make-Up/News Make-Up" Newspaper apprenticeship program with The Charlotte Observer/The Charlotte News in 6-months; later worked part-time as Proofreader/Assistant Copy Editor with historically Black-owned The Charlotte Post Newspaper. Gerald's creative thirst for Television and Filmmaking found solace his senior year as an energetic writer intern with Charlotte's Black Media Association. BMA was comprised of various Media Arts Professionals, Community, Civic Leaders, making positive impacts throughout Charlotte's minority communities through the organization's Print Media, Radio, Film, Stage and TV resources. Notable pioneering BMA members were Amanda Davis, Broadcast Journalist/Morning Anchor of Atlanta's CBS 46 NewsAbigail Flanders, BMA VP, former Senior Promotions Producer/Community Affairs Director (WAGA FOX 5); and Joe Johns, Senior White House/Washington News Correspondent for CNN. BMA's critically-acclaimed documentary series, "IMAGES," provided professional TV scriptwriting opportunities to pen his (3) original 45-min. teleplays,

"Settle For Sacrifice, Walking The Thin-Line of Temptation, and Working Up A Sweat"...

 

While fulfilling his obligations under the United States Navy’s Delayed Entry Program, Gerald worked full-time as a News Make-Up Artist (Composing Department) at The Atlanta Journal & Constitution Newspapers. On, November 25, 1983, he officially began active duty military service at RTC Great Lakes, Illinois; later enrolled at his designated A-School Defense Information School for Broadcasters & Journalists (DINFOS) in Ft. Benjamin Harrison, Indiana; graduated from DIINFOS and began active duty fleet service onboard USS Milwaukee (AOR-2) homeport Norfolk, Virginia as the Command Journalist.  Much of his overall (civilian, military) multimedia talents and skills expand 18 American States & 25 Foreign Countries. Much of his military credits in Print Media, Television Programming and Public Affairs are preserved by the Department of the  Navy, and serve as the eventual basis for published naval histories and records. A few honorable military accolades included: selected DINFOS "GOLD CREW" (Top Academic Student, Outstanding Military and Civilian Character; Drum Section Leader, 1st Snare RTC Navy Recruit Band; received DINFOS' prestigious Golden Quill Award (Best Class Newspaper Production, Editing); awarded (2) consecutive "BRAVO ZULU" CCTV SITE II Television Programming Commendations (Best Television Production & Programming) from Armed Forces Radio & Television Service (AFRTS) during major Navy fleet and battlegroup deployments...

 In addition to writing, developing and producing multimedia concepts for 21st Century "universal" audiences, Gerald works sporadically on his forthcoming published civilian book memoirs intended to expound in fuller, more broader  storied details his many "roads less traveled" making a "qualitative" difference in life for others other than himself as an Independent Multimedia Artist titled
